Baccarat one of the ever popular casino games! Up to 15 players can participate around a table. Baccarat is firmly rooted in Italy, the word baccarat means zero and is the lowest hand in the game. The object of Online Baccarat is to get to nine, or as close as possible, similar to Blackjack but of course for Blackjack you need 21. The cards have different values from Blackjack as well. Online Baccarat offers you three different betting options: Banker, Player or Tie. Note that these terms do not refer to the dealer and player!
The most important thing for you to learn in Online Baccarat is the card values. Cards 2 to 9 are worth their face value, while 10, Jack, Queen and King are each worth 0 and Aces are valued at only 1 point. To add up the value of your hand, add the values and then deduct 10 - this is called modulo. Modulo means the highest achievable score is 9. For example, if you hold cards 7 and 8, your total score is 5 (7+8=15-10=5). Of all casino games, Online Baccarat remains top of the line entertainment!
Card Values: Baccarat applies the following values to the playing cards:
- Ace is worth 1
- Cards 1-9 are worth their face value.
- King, Queen, Jack and 10 are worth zero
The total value of a hand in Baccarat is calculated according to the sum of the card values minus the tens digit. For example, 6 + 9 = 15, and 15 – 10 = 5, so the sum total of this hand is 5. This means that there is no way that a player can bust. The worst possible hand in Baccarat is worth 0, and the best is obviously 9.
Baccarat - How to Play
In Online Baccarat, two hands are dealt, 2 cards to the player and 2 cards to the banker. Playing Online Baccarat has a distinct advantage over playing Baccarat at a land casino, you do not have to worry about delaying the game, it is all at your own pace and you will not have to ask the dealer to wait until you have placed your bet. The hand with the value closest to 9 wins. You may pick the hand you want to bet on: Player, Banker or Tie. The Player and Banker bets pay out 2 to 1. The Tie bet however pays out 9 to 1. There is also the possibility of dealing a 3rd card, if the Player has 5 points or less, and if the Banker has 2 points or less. Additionally, there is a defined set of rules as to when the Banker may draw a third card with a higher total, depending on the Players' hand.
The Banker (or “Bunco”)
The Player (or “Punto”)
