Blackjack - The Aim of the Game
 Play Now
Online Blackjack is all about who reaches 21 first, you or the dealer. It's popular the world over and so easy to lear. Play is fast paced and loads of fun, so why not try your hand at Online Blackjack at EuroGrand!
How to play Online Blackjack
The player and the dealer are each dealt 2 cards, the players cards are dealt face up and the dealer's last card is dealt face down
- The dealer's second card is called the hole card. Now the player has to look at his cards to see how best he can improve his hand to reach 21.
- Cards 2 to 10 keep their numerical face value, while Jack, Queen and King are worth 10 points each.
- The Ace can be worth either 1 or 11 points, and you may use either option in order to reach a hand of 21.
- You may then decide whether to 'stand' with your two cards, or 'hit' - in other words draw another. If you go over 21, you 'bust'. Remember Jokers are not used in Blackjack!
- Whoever comes closest to 21 in Online Blackjack wins the hand.
- Back in the day, a Blackjack was made up of an Ace of Spades and a Black Jack - Clubs or Spades - and earned a much higher payout, but in contemporary play, any Ace and any Jack will do
If you are dealt two cards of the same value, you may choose to 'split' your hand into two hands, and continue playing
- Double Down - double your bet and draw another card.
- Split ? If you are dealt two cards with the same value, you may split your hand into two, you will be dealt a card for each hand and you have to bet an amount equal to your initial bet to cover the second hand.
- Insurance ? If the Dealer is dealt an Ace as his first card, you have the option of placing an insurance bet.
- standoff ? is reached. Blackjack - an Ace and a face card - earns a bigger payout
Blackjack - Terminology
There are some terms particular to Online Blackjack - words you should become familiar with before you start playing
- "Blackjack" ? when a player holds a hand comprised of only the 2 initial cards and is worth exactly 21 points (i.e. ? Ace + face-card). This is an instant win.
- "Hit" ? Ask for another card to be dealt.
- "Stand" ? Keep only the cards dealt to you without drawing another.
- "Rebet" ? to place the same bet as in the previous game and be dealt cards.
- "Soft Hand" ? your hand contains an Ace and another low value card, you may decide the value of the Ace, either 10 or 1.
- "Hard Hand" ? your hand contains and Ace, a 10 and a 6, it will be difficult to draw another card without exceeding 21, even if you decide to count the Ace as a 1.
- "Payout" ? is 2-1 if the dealer gets Blackjack
- "Bust" ? If you exceed 21, you go bust, that means you lose.
